Our story
We were introduced by mutual friends at a supper neither of us wanted to go to. What was meant to be a quick hello turned into a table of stories and a walk to the last train, and a feeling that we had known each other far longer than four hours.
A weekend on the coast that we planned on a Thursday and nearly missed the train for. Wrong turns, a late supper of chips on a wall, and the discovery that we travel the same way, which is badly and happily.
Marcus planned a quiet evening at the place we had our first dinner, surrounded by photographs from the years in between, and asked one very important question. Elodie said yes before he had finished asking it.
The celebration
3:30 pm
Welcome to Ashcombe House. Drinks will be waiting on the terrace, and there is time to find your seat before we begin.
4:00 pm
Join us in the walled garden as we exchange our vows and begin the next part of this properly.
4:45 pm
Drinks, small things to eat and music under the limes, while the two of us are taken away for photographs.
6:00 pm
We will sit down to dinner in the glasshouse, with speeches somewhere between the second and third courses.
8:00 pm
Meet us on the floor. The band plays until midnight and the last car leaves at half past, whichever comes first.
Guest information
Accommodation
We are holding rooms at The Bathford Arms, ten minutes from the house, under our names until the end of March. There are cottages in the village for anyone travelling as a family, and the house itself has eight rooms which go to family first.
Dress code
Formal, with a garden about it. Suits, separates, midi and full length dresses are all welcome. Part of the day is on grass, so block heels or something you can stand in are worth the thought, and July here turns cool once the sun is off the hill.
Food and drinks
A seated dinner, a table of puddings and a bar that stays open until the band stops. Vegetarian and allergy friendly plates are there as a matter of course, and anything else you need can go in the reply form.
Transport
Bath Spa is the nearest station, twenty minutes away, with fast trains from London Paddington. A coach will run from the inn at three, and back again at half past ten and at midnight. There is parking at the house and cars can be left overnight.

By 1 May 2027, so the kitchen and the seating plan have a number to work from. If your plans change after that, tell us anyway and we will sort it out.
They are, and there is a room off the hall for them with somebody looking after it from six. Tell us their ages in the reply and we will plan for them properly.
